How it works:
The basic process of a Spray Dryer involves the following steps:

Drying: The atomized droplets are introduced into a drying chamber. In this environment, hot air circulates, promoting rapid evaporation of water in liquid droplets. The result is the formation of fine solid particles.

Types of Spray Dryers:
Co-current: Hot air flows in the same direction as the atomized droplets. This is the most common type of Spray Dryer.
Counter-current: Hot air flows in the opposite direction to the atomized droplets. This type can offer greater efficiency in some cases.
Fluidized Bed Mixer: In this case, the liquid is atomized in a stream of hot air that keeps the particles suspended. This is known as fluidized bed drying.
Rotating Nozzle Spray Dryer: Uses a rotating nozzle to atomize the liquid, providing a more uniform distribution.
Pressure Spray Dryer: Atomizes liquid under pressure, resulting in smaller droplets and greater drying efficiency.
