The conveyor metal detector is the most widely used type in industry, especially in the food, pharmaceutical, and packaging sectors.
It combines an automated conveyor belt with a metal detector tunnel, allowing for continuous inspection of products on the production line.
Automatic inspection system composed of:
- Metal detector tunnel – contains the transmitter and receiver coils that generate the electromagnetic field.
- Conveyor belt – carries the product through the detector tunnel.
- Automatic rejection system – ejects any contaminated product.
- Electronic control panel – performs calibration, signal analysis, and records occurrences.
Thus, each product that passes through the tunnel is scanned.
If the system detects metal (ferrous, non-ferrous, or stainless steel), an ejection mechanism automatically removes the item from the line.
Conveyor belt detectors are used in continuous production lines, mainly for:
- Food industry: meats, cheeses, breads, biscuits, chocolates, frozen foods, packaged fruits and vegetables.
- Pharmaceutical and cosmetics: packaged products, soaps, creams, capsules.
- Plastics and rubber: verifying the purity of granules and preventing damage to mills/extruders.
- Textiles and footwear: detecting needles, staples, and metal strays in clothing.
- Recycling and paper/pulp: preventing damage to shredders. |
