An Automatic Vertical Vacuum Packaging Machine (VFFS - Vertical Form Fill Seal) is an integrated piece of equipment that automates three logistical processes in a single operation column: bag forming, product filling, and oxygen extraction.
Bag Forming: The plastic film descends from the reel and passes through a metallic "forming collar" that folds the sheet, transforming it into a tube. A vertical sealer closes the edges of this tube.
Gravity Dosing: The coffee (or other grain/powder) is released by a doser at the top of the machine and falls directly into the pre-formed plastic tube.
Vacuum Module: Before the final seal, the machine uses suction nozzles or an integrated chamber to remove all air from inside the package. In the case of coffee, this creates the "brick pack" effect (compact and rigid).
Sealing and Cutting: Once the vacuum is pulled, horizontal sealing bars grip the top of the bag, seal it hermetically, and a blade cuts the packaging, releasing the finished product.
Key Industries and Applications The versatility of the vertical system allows it to be applied in various sectors that require strict hygiene and preservation:
Food Industry: This is the primary sector for this technology. Beyond coffee (ground or beans), it is used for grains, seeds, milk powder, yeast, dried fruits, and spices.
Chemical Industry: Used for packaging hygroscopic powders (which absorb moisture from the air) and raw materials that require chemical stability during storage.
Pharmaceutical Industry: Applied in the packaging of granulated raw materials and components that demand a total barrier against external contaminants and humidity.
Pet Food Industry: Ideal for specialty feeds and treats with high fat content that require vacuum sealing to prevent rancidity. |
